My wife and I just finished watching a new movie called The Box starring Cameron Diaz and James Marsden and the only word that I can find to describe this movie is pathetic. The Box is a thinly veiled attempt to foist old world spirituality and dogma on unsuspecting viewers. It starts interestingly enough with a gentlemen (a.k.a the serpent, we later realize) who delivers a box with a red button (the apple) to a couple (Adam and Eve) with an offer (a temptation). The offer is simple. Press the button and somebody you don’t know is going to die. The temptation? If you press the button, you get a million dollars. Read the rest of this entry »

As above in consciousness, so below in matterTM
So a few days ago I had the dubious pleasure of watching a film called The Sphere (1998) with Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is about a crew of people who go down into the ocean to find a spaceship buried in three hundred years of coral growth. You can imagine their surprise when they realize the ship is from their own future, everybody is dead, and there’s this big, pulsating sphere in the center of the space ship.
